Has Smoke been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:

Renewed Or Cancelled? Smoke is the latest crime thriller on Apple, executively produced by Dennis Lehane, who has produced some excellent projects in the past, including Shutter Island and fellow Apple TV+ project, Black Bird. So after watching this one in its entirety, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here's what we know: What is Smoke about? Smoke is a gritty crime drama set in the rain-soaked forests of the Pacific Northwest. Taron Egerton plays Dave Gudsen, an arson investigator with a haunted past and a flair for storytelling. He's working on a novel, but it's the fires that won't leave him alone. Alongside him though is Michelle Calderone (Jurnee Smollett) who plays a sharp, no-nonsense detective and ex-Marine who doesn't tolerate ego or excuses. Together, they're pulled into a string of escalating fires that point to not just one—but two serial arsonists. As the pair dig deeper, personal baggage starts to surface. We have ongoing coverage of Smoke on the site including recaps of every episode. You can find those HERE! Has Smoke been renewed for season 2? At the time of writing, Smoke has not been renewed for season 2. Generally Apple would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made. So far, Smoke has had a really good reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many commenting (including ourselves) that the plot and humour both work really well together. Given the way this show is set up, we're predicting that this will be renewed for a second season. The series does have plenty of potential and we also know Lehane has been pretty vocal about his plans for a three-season arc to this one. Lehane's interview with The Direct (which you can find here) is well worth a read too as it details a lot of the thought processes that are going into this three-season plan. The ending to season 1 certainly leaves things wide open for a follow-up too, which looks set to follow a more conventional cat and mouse format. However, we could be completely wrong, given Apple don't always renew every show, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt! What we know about season 2 so far: Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point as Apple haven't officially renewed this one. It does feel like it's only a matter of time before it is though, but we'll have to wait and see for the time being. Should it be renewed, we have some big questions. What will happen to Michelle's investigation? What will the fate of the arson investigation team be? Will we see a return of the same characters as before? It seems very likely that this will be renewed, and if it is, we'd expect it to be green-lit with another 9 episode order, and bring back a lot of the old cast too.
